The Health & Social Justice Taskforce of The Ezekiel Project is dedicated to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to the resources and opportunities they need to live healthy, dignified lives. We believe that health is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and that achieving true health equity requires addressing systemic barriers that disproportionately impact marginalized populations.
Our Work
We focus on addressing the root causes of health disparities in Saginaw and the surrounding region. Our taskforce brings together community members, healthcare professionals, advocates, and faith leaders to advance policies and initiatives that promote health equity and social justice.
As an active member of the Health Equity Council of Saginaw, we work collaboratively with local stakeholders to tackle pressing health challenges, such as:
- Increasing access to affordable and quality healthcare.
- Addressing environmental health concerns in underserved neighborhoods.
- Promoting mental health resources and reducing stigma.
- Advocating for equitable health policies at the local and state levels.
By sitting at the Health Equity Council table, we ensure that the voices of our community are heard, their needs are prioritized, and systemic injustices in health outcomes are addressed head-on.
Why It Matters
Health inequities are deeply rooted in systemic racism, poverty, and unequal access to resources. These challenges won’t disappear on their own—they require bold action and a collective effort. Through the Health & Social Justice Taskforce, we’re driving change by:
