Education Justice Taskforce
Every child deserves access to a high-quality education that prepares them for a bright future—regardless of their zip code, race, or socioeconomic status. At The Ezekiel Project, our Education Justice Taskforce is committed to dismantling inequities in the education system and advocating for policies that prioritize the needs of all students, families, and educators in our community.
Our Mission
We envision an education system where every child can thrive, equipped with the tools and opportunities to reach their full potential. We believe that achieving this vision means addressing systemic barriers such as underfunded schools, discriminatory practices, and unequal access to resources.
What We Do
1. Advocate for Fair School Funding
We work to ensure that all schools receive adequate resources, especially those in underserved neighborhoods. Every student deserves access to modern facilities, well-trained teachers, and comprehensive academic programs.
2. Promote Culturally Relevant Education
We push for inclusive curriculums that reflect the diverse histories, experiences, and cultures of our community. Education should empower students and affirm their identities.
3. Fight for Equity in Discipline
Disproportionate suspensions and expulsions harm students of color and those with disabilities. We advocate for restorative practices that address conflict while keeping students in school and on track for success.
4. Support Teachers and Families
We collaborate with educators, parents, and caregivers to identify challenges and develop solutions that support both learning and teaching environments.
5. Elevate Student Voices
Students are at the heart of education. We provide platforms for young people to share their experiences and advocate for changes they want to see in their schools.
Why It Matters
Education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and building stronger, more equitable communities. Yet, systemic inequities in funding, discipline, and access to resources have left too many students behind. Addressing these injustices isn’t just an educational issue—it’s a moral imperative.

If you believe in the power of education to transform lives, we invite you to join our efforts. Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, or community advocate, your voice and actions can help create the change we need.
